Homemade Granola

Now we shall see what a healthy bowl of granola looks like!

  • OATS: Oats is the typical ingredient of any granola recipe, as it contains many vitamins, minerals and has high fiber content which aids in easy digestion. Whole rolled oats can be spotted in granola.
  • NUTS: Walnuts are the ones that come immediately to our minds when we talk about nuts. Some chopped walnuts and other ingredients to alter with, such as almonds, pecans, pistachio, cashews, and even sunflower seeds can be added. They all are a good source of proteins and nutrients.
  • OIL: Unrefined oil becomes an essential component to give granola an extra crisp. Any edible oil which is not refined is it coconut oil or olive oil, can be added to make a beneficial recipe.
  • SWEETENER: A natural sweetener might be maple syrup or honey, according to your preference. It gives the granola a delicious touch.
  • DRIED FRUITS: Dried fruits including dried cranberries, tart dried berries, raisins, dates, dried apricots, and a few more could be a great choice to mix in. If you don’t prefer dried fruits, you can ignore them totally!

To have a delightful and flavorsome granola dish, you can opt for the following ingredients:

  • Cinnamon
  • A bit of salt
  • Unsweetened coconut flakes
  • Almond butter for a proteinaceous cluster.
  • Brown sugar for additional sweetness.

Procedure:

  1. Mix all the above-said ingredients in a vessel.
  2. Spread the mixture on parchment paper place it on the baking tray.
  3. Press down on the granola slightly to get a good, clumpy dish.
  4. Put the baking tray in the oven(350F or 175C), and don’t bake it for more than 30 minutes.
  5. After it is completely baked, take the tray out of the oven and allow it to cool off completely.
  6. After cooling, you can add some chocolate chips or even fresh fruits to it if needed and can be taken along with milk, yogurt, peanut butter, or anything you like/

Final words:

Granola can also be taken in the form of bars by breaking it into desired sizes after baking and refrigerating for nearly an hour. You can store the prepared granola for a week or more if kept in an air-tight container.
